Sister of Alma Leontīne Āboltiņa, wife of Peter's great-great-uncle Dāvis Sirlaks.

Zelma Āboltiņa was born on 14 Oct 1883 in Salaca parish, Vidzeme, Latvia (according to an online family tree)2, the daughter of Ancis Āboltiņš and Dārta Āboltiņa7. She married Aleksandrs Martinsons8. She died about 19604,5 and was buried at Salacgrīva cemetery, on the seashore, Salacgrīva, Latvian SSR6.

Lived at Vīstuči from c. 1929–30 for about 30 years. She is the "Tante"/"Tanta" of the memoir (p. 42 "Zelmas Tante"); struck off the Vīstuči register in the Soviet period, she lived at the end of her life at "Kalna Gāles" (p. 3); died in Ilga's care (p. 51). Knew Estonian. Wove Aina's trousseau.

Buried at Salacgrīva; funeral meal at the Āboltiņš farm "Ļekunkas". She had earlier ordered a large black marble monument in Cēsis, carried to Salaca by the Vīstuči horses (p. 28) — presumably for the Āboltiņš family grave.
